Does segregation exist today?

In order to properly comprehend this post, you must first have an understanding of the word segregation. There are several forms of segregation, but for our purposes segregation will be defined as “the enforced separation of different racial groups in a country, community, or establishment.” This means that people are forced to be separate from each other based on the color of their skin, religious views, or other factors. For example, white people would go to different schools than black people OR Christian people would not be allowed to go to the same schools as Jewish people.

Many people believe that segregation in this country ended during the 1960’s with Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement. However, many argue that segregation stills exists today. That is: certain groups of people are still essentially separate based on their race, skin color, religious views, sexual preferences or another factor (living areas, grocery stores, etc.)

Now, we all know that segregation is illegal today, but is segregation truly gone from our society?

Your task is to research this topic, and determine whether or not segregation still exists today. Use Google to find articles about this or talk about your own personal experiences. Reflect on your feelings about the topic, and provide examples that support your logic or reason. If you find that segregation does still exist, propose possible solutions for the problem. I agree that seregation is not completely over in the united states. It has come a great way from where it was almost 50 years ago but it still exist almost everywhere. In my eyes its a waste of time to hate another race or religion because who knows that back a long time ago are ancesters were'nt black or white, jewish or catholic. I believe that people can make a change and be the bigger person to correct someone when there wrong. But it all starts when we are younger because if are parents raise us to only like are skin color or religion then that is what we are acustom to.Some people just hate other race because they think that the other race is diffrent when the only diffrence is there skin color. They could have the same goals, mind set, hobbys, or what ever the circumstance is there is no reason that seragation should still exist anywhere in the world.

I do think that segregation still exists in some cases such as jobs and certain schools. Some people do still segregate and discriminate against other people. My brother was riving one night and he made a wrong turn,he made a U turn and the cop pulled him over. When the cop pulled him over he said it was because of his light being out. The cop ran his name and when he came back he made him and his friend get out the car,and he called more cop cars in. They searched my brother and vioated him, going in his underwear and everything. They brought the search dog out and they let the dog tear up the inside of the car,one cop tapped on the case tank and made the dog put his paw on the tank. They were trying to make it seem like my brother had drugs in the car, they ripped out the inside of the truck and the material on the side. They threw all of his belingings out of his wallet including, money and his license. All this happened because it was late and two young black men were driving in a car. They weren't drunk nore high they was coming from the bowling alley. So yes I do think segregation is still around with certain people and their attitudes.

I think that segregation still remains in our world today.Hypersegregation is a form of racial segregation that consists of the geographical grouping of racial groups. Most often, this occurs in cities where the residents of the inner city are African Americans and the suburbs surrounding this inner core are often European American residents. even though it is not as popular as before it still happens in areas down south. Studies show that hypersegregation happens when a rich community has a religion or race that's not from around there.
