- i can visualize the trash stacked to the top wi all types of nasty trsh and the how bad the house smells
-it emphasizes the fact that if you dont take the trsh out it turn into something you dont want to do towrds the end because its to late
- do the something the first time your told
- it makes it funny ..
HYPPERBOLES:
-And though her daddy would scream and shout,
She simply would not take the garbage out.
---he never actually scremed and shout he probably just had to repeat himself to many times
-And so it piled up to the ceilings:
--- trsh couldnt pile up the cieling it would start to fall over
-It filled the can, it covered the floor,
--- nobody could actually let there trsh over flow that way
-It cracked the window and blocked the door .
---trash isnt strong .
-The garbage reached across the state,
From New York to the Golden Gate.
--- the trash reached a far sitance im sure that couldnt actually happen
-- hyperboles just have a way of making a poem sound interesting and make scence if i was to exaggerate how tired i am you would be able to understand and add on.
It filled the can, it covered thefloor.
It cracked the window and blocked the door.
The garbage rolled on down the hall.
It raised the roof, it broke the wall.
At last the garbage reached so high that it finally touched the sky.
Reading this poem helps me visualize what's happening in the story because she's telling details about how dirty and what's in the trash. It's so much that it broke down to walls! It tell mes how much trash is there and if Sarah won't take it out, then it will soon expand bigger. It helps me understand and this poem is very entertaining, makes me think, Why wouldn't she want to take out the trash if the trash keeps getting bigger and bigger? Her friends won't come over and play with her with filthy trash and since her friends won't come over, she wants to take out the trash now. It's amusing. Hyperbole has effect on us reader because it make things more interesting in our level, make us want to keep reading, instead of being bored like reading a dictionary.
<<<That's hyperbole right there. In the story of Sarah Sylvia she exaggerated to the extreme. Half of the poem talked about how trashy the house was...it got unbelievably high and i believe Sarah said it touched the sky. There were many things she had said, like banana peels, and how junky everything was..just because Stout wouldn't take the trash out. After all the exaggerating tales, Stouts' time had run out and the trash brushed towards Golden Gates. All I can say is..Sarah is an expert at exaggerating, it showed in her creative spurts throughout the poem.
I can visualize all these things that are in Sarah's garbage, the point being emphasized for younger children i would say to persuade them to always take the trash out, but for someone older it points out different instances of hyperbole. This poem helped me to understand hyperbole writing, it was entertaining and funny.
hyperbole in the poem:
-It filled the can, it covered the floor,
It cracked the window and blocked the door
-The garbage rolled on down the hall,
It raised the roof, it broke the wall. . .
-At last the garbage reached so high
That it finally touched the sky.
-And all the neighbors moved away,
And none of her friends would come to play.
-The garbage reached across the state,
From New York to the Golden Gate.
these all all extreme exaggeration in the poem.
The garbage rolled on down the hall,
It raised the roof, it broke the wall
At last the garbage reached so high
That it finally touched the sky.
And all the neighbors moved away,
And none of her friends would come to play.
it was too late. . .
The garbage reached across the state,
From New York to the Golden Gate.
And there, in the garbage she did hate,
Poor Sarah met an awful fate,
reading this poem helped me understand hyperbole by haveing fun with the reading.
When I read this poem it does make me visualize something. It makes me visualize the mess in her house and the trash pilling up. To me I think it just trying to emphasize how important it is to take the garbage out. This really doesnt help me understand much but it helps me visualize the problem with the trash. I think it does make the story more entertaining just by how the way they explained how the trash was building up so high and it made all her friends run away.
here are some examples of hyperbole
It filled the can, it covered the floor,
It cracked the window and blocked the door
At last the garbage reached so high
That it finally touched the sky
These are all examples of hyperbole because they all are exaggeration. Like in he first and second line it says how it covered the floor block the door ect, right there is a big exaggeration. Also when it said the trash piled so high it touch the sky thats another good example.
the poem i read makes me visualize every piece of garbage that she has building up in the house. for example ican picture the Gloppy glumps of cold oatmeal,
Pizza crusts and withered greens,
Soggy beans and tangerines,
Crusts of black burned buttered toast,
Gristly bits of beefy roasts. . .
This is an example of hyperbole
these are hyperboles because they are exaggerating how much trash Sarah Cynthia Stout did not want to take out.And how much of it she had piled up in her house.
1.It filled the can, it covered the floor,
2.It cracked the window and blocked the door
3.so it piled up to the ceilings
4.The garbage rolled on down the hall,
5.It raised the roof, it broke the wall.
6.At last the garbage reached so high
That it finally touched the sky
7.The garbage reached across the state
The poem emphasizes that sarah should have tookin out the garbage when she was told to the first time.
this poem helps me to understand that once someone tells me to do something i should do it because if not i will regret it later on when ive had enough of people telling me to do something
The lines that are hyperbole are..it cracked the window and blocked the door. It raised the roof, it broke the wall.At last the garbage reached so high
That it finally touched the sky.
The garbage reached across the state,to new york to the golden gate. These are all hyperbole because the poem is saying that the garbage reached the sky. That is just saying its to much, its being extra about it.
This poem makes me visualize all the things that happen in the poem. Like the garbage piling up an up. The point is that you should always take out the trash so that doesn't happen to you. It makes me understand what is hyperbole. This does make it more funny.
1.The garbage rolled on down the hall,
it raised the roof, and it broke the wall.
2.At last the garbage reached so high
that it finally.
The examples right avoare examples of hyperbole. They are exaggerating the story to explain what was going on at the moment seems like alot more worst then what it seems.
yes while i was reading this poem i visualized me in sarah cynthia stouts shoes as i read this poem.i could see when she said "the garbage was so high it touched the sky." i imagined garbage toughing the sky.yes it does emphasize the point because it showes readers on how to use hyperboles.yes it makes the poem more interesting to read. it does because they make the poem humoruos when you read it.
1.Yes, it does help me visualize something.
2.Yes.
3.Yes, it helps me think harder and connect to get a better understanding.
4.Yes
It filled the can, it covered the floor,
It cracked the window and blocked the door

Instances of hyperbole in life: 1. It's as loud as a sierin. 2. OMG! It's gigantic! 3. It weighs more than the world. 4. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders. 5. Darker than Black. These are hyperbole because these things blow the sense of things out of paportion and leave you shaking your head wondering why and how. Instances of hyperbole in the poem: 1. The garbage rolled on down the hall. 2. Rubbery blubbery macaroni. 3. At last the garbage reached so high that it finally touched the sky. 4. And so it piled up to the ceilings. 5. The garbage reached across the state, from New York to the Golden Gate. These are instances of hyperbole because they exaggerate to the point of no return.
Hyperboles are forms of exaggeration. It makes things seem bigger than what it already is.
It was so cold in the room, the floor was covered in ice and it was snowing. The little boy was so hyper,he bounced of the wall nd jumped off a house. I was so mad steam started coming out my ears and my face turned red. I was so happy I did 50 back flips down the street. It was so quiet you could here the dust roll on the floor.
The poem had alot of hyperboles. I couldnt finish it because the computer was slow..
~ Yes, it makes me visualize the trash piling up and how disgusting it must look.
~ It emphasizes the point that you should take the trash out before it's too late.
~ It helps us understand that taking out the trash is important. It's important because people will judge you and come to see you; just like poor Sarah.
~ It makes it entertaing becasue we can visualize all the nasty food and trash piling up; the crusty black burned butter toast, moldy pizza crust, greasy napkins.
~ Hyperboles from the poem are:
*At last the garbage reached so high, that it finally touched the sky.
*The garbage reached across the state, from New York to the Golden Gate.
*The garbage rolled on down the hall,it raised the roof, it broke the wall...
